Brandon Semenuk

Brandon Semenuk's Perfect One-Shot Run

Brandon Semenuk put this masterpiece together in Cambria, California. It is the first full segment in a mountain bike film using a continuous shot with no edits or cuts. It took Brandon a few tries to complete a flawless run. Still, this beautifully shot film showcases the Canadian’s smoothness, skill, and technique. He executes every jump and berm with an enviable style and even switches bikes halfway down. And to think he did it all with a broken wrist. Combined with the Buffalo Springfield soundtrack, this video oozes coolness.

Gee Atherton

The Ridgeline

If you like Brandon Semenuk’s run but thought it could do with being a bit more extreme, check out this downhill mountain bike video from British rider Gee Atherton. Gee has always been one of the most ambitious mountain bikers on the planet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always go his way, and he’s suffered some horrendous injuries for his art. He and his team built The Ridgeline trail at Dyfi Bikepark in Wales, where the Atherton family and team live and train. There’s no room for error, as you’ll see. After filming The Ridgeline, he wanted to take it further by making it more gnarly, but he had his worst crash yet. His life-threatening injuries put him out of action for a while, and everyone thought he would surely retire. However, once recovered, Gee headed back up the mountain to film The Ridgeline II to prove to himself and the world that he’s still got it.

Bike vs Moto

Who's Faster? Red Bull Hardline

Red Bull Hardline is the world’s hardest downhill mountain bike race. It’s held at Dyfi Bikepark and designed by Gee Atherton’s brother, Dan. Every year, the track is tweaked to be bigger, gnarlier, and scarier. In 2024, Red Bull challenged enduro motocross rider Johnny Walker to see if he could ride the Hardline course faster than a mountain biker. The goal was to beat Jackson Goldstone’s time of 2:20 minutes. With help from downhill racer Matt Jones, Johnny had to work out how to cope with the steep gradients, tight turns, and huge jumps. Realizing his motorbike wasn’t as nimble as the burliest downhill mountain bike, he knew he had a lot of work to do. But, as you’ll see, his hard work paid off, even though he had never been so scared.

Fabio Wibmer

The Streif

The Streif is one of the world's most legendary downhill ski racecourses. This course is in Kitzbühel, Austria, and is one of the most technically difficult to race on, thanks to its steepness and tight turns. However, the incredibly talented Fabio Wibmer decided to mountain bike down the Streif before the skiers. This fantastic video of Fabio charging down the piste with studded tires is incredible, especially if you've ever spent some time on snow. Fabio put his own
